Chennai Super Kings again proved that they are one of the strong contender for lifting IPL T20 Champions Trophy. They finished the league matches with 22 points and held the top position in the points tally with the help of better run rate compared to Mumbai Indians.
Where as it was saddening to see a below average performance by the Delhi Daredevils. Delhi could win only 3 matches in this edition of the tournament and adjusted to the last place with just 6 points.
Chennai, Mumbai, Rajasthan and Hyderabad are the 4 teams qualified for playoff levels. CSK will face MI in the 1st qualifier match on 21st May and the looser of this match will get one more chance to enter the finals.
RR will face SH in the eliminator to be held on 22nd May and the looser of this match will be out of tournament. Winner of Eliminator need to play again with the looser of 1st Qualifier match to get a place to play in the finals.
The final match of the tournament will be played on 26th May at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
